This time its for Generative AI
Habits for a Better World is a non-profit organization project run by Karel Vredenburg and Carly Williams.
Involving 300 volunteer researchers who are using the power of research, design, foresight and filmmaking to inspire behavior change for a better world.

My Role in this Project
Foresight Researcher
My research is centred on Generative AI, where I collaborated and lead a team of 5. In this role, I help guide the team, and contribute to the research itself.
Project Overview
During this phase, we began with desk research and engaged in self and group reflection to explore the problem areas and develop hypotheses. We then broadened the scope of our research by identifying two key archetypes and conducting structured and semi-structured user interviews to gain deeper insights.

What seems to be happening ?
We filtered and collated inputs from the previous research phase, while also scanning for weak signals from diverse sources. These signals were then mapped into the agreed horizons using the STEEP framework.
What is really happening ?
Key drivers were identified and prioritized based on their uncertainty and impact. These drivers revealed emerging patterns and shifts shaping user behaviors, technological adoption, and societal responses to generative AI.
What could happen ?
After analyzing the potential impacts of prioritized drivers, we are now developing diverse future scenarios and respective artifacts to anticipate the evolution of generative AI. Each scenario explores the interplay between these drivers, offering insights into a preferred future for generative AI.
Next Steps
Develop scenarios and create potential prototypes and artifacts to test and iterate during the evaluative research phase.
